Synopsis:

Learn RouterOS in a Virtual Workshop course offered January 13th - February 3rd, 2021 by Link Technologies, Inc. The certification/ testing process will be hosted by The Hampton Inn on February 9th and/or 10th, 2021 - located in St. Louis, Mo. You do NOT need to be part of this training course, to take the test. This course includes all training material covered under the MTCNA, MTTCE, MTCRE, and MTCWE. See the course outline for detailed information.

Flight Information:

St. Louis Lambert International Airport has a number of airlines that you can choose from. Southwest, Delta, American, and other Airlines are available. Please keep in mind, when reserving your flight, that the scheduled class dates and time are subject to change. We are NOT responsible for any flight that was NOT rescheduled or cancelled. Nor are we responsible for any missed flights or the inability to arrive on the testing day.

Hotel:

The Hampton Inn St. Louis Airport is the host hotel and is located at 10820 Pear Tree Ln, Saint Louis, MO 63074. When booking a room, please ask for the 9th or 10th of February 2021. This hotel DOES offer a shuttle to/from the airport. You may get a taxi at the airport or rent a car, however, if you wish to have a discounted fare, you can contact, County Cab (314)991-5300. These have been recommended by the Hampton Inn. The hotel's contact number is 314-429-2000.

Class Schedule:

The current schedule is to meet in the conference room, TWICE a week, for FOUR weeks.

Each WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY, begining January 13, 2021 and ending on February 3, 2021 virtual training will take place.

Class begins at 9AM CST and ends around 1PM CST. Lunch will not be provided.

YOUR TEST DAY IS ONE WEEK, AFTER THE LAST DAY OF VIRTUAL TRAINING.

February 10th, 2021 a (Wednesday) is the TEST DAY.

TESTING will begin promptly at 8AM CST and ends around 4PM CST. YOU MUST PASS THE FIRST TEST IN ORDER TO GO ON TO THE REMAINING THREE.



Training Requirements:

The virtual class is designed around Windows XP or newer. We cannot support other OS intstallations. YOU WILL NEED a Windows based Laptop, power supply, and power strip for virtual training and testing. WIFI access will be available for internet access at the testing sight.

THE RECOMMENDED HARDWARE IS BELOW, but please feel free to bring any other routers that you feel would be beneficial to use in your test environment as well as a tested and working Null Modem Cable with your laptop.

Recommended knowledge prior to course: You need to have knowledge in basic routing, and IP sub-netting. You should also have a good understanding of what the differences are between layer 2 and layer 3 in the OSI model. I would also recommend that you have used RouterOS routers for at least 6 months prior to attending the course. If you have not, you will learn a lot of information; However, the testing may prove to be difficult.

What you need for the class:
  • Yourself!
  • A PC based laptop (window XP+ is preferred): Note, we cannot support Mac or Linux OS's in the class- You can use them though.
  • Cat5 Cables (preferable bring two just in case!)
  • Power Strip - You never know if you need more power!
  • A Tested* - Null Modem Cable with the laptop you are bringing
  • A minimum of  2 - MikroTik - hAP ac²'s 

*This means that you have used your laptop with a Null modem cable into a serial port on a RouterBOARD product. This is needed for part of the course. If you don't have a serial port, get a USB to Serial converter.

    Other Activities: I am always open to other activities outside of the course during this week. If you have a show, or something interesting, suggest it to the rest of the training class! Many are not from the area and would like to get out and see the city sometime!
